The Sam Houston State University College of Osteopathic Medicine (SHSU-COM) was founded to help address the growing shortage of primary care physicians in rural and underserved communities across Texas.
Today, SHSU-COM student doctors and graduates are already making an impact – serving patients, engaging with communities, conducting research, and preparing for careers dedicated to improving access to care where it is needed most.
With the support of donors and community partners, SHSU-COM continues preparing clinically skilled, compassionate physicians who are trained to care for the whole patient and serve communities across Texas.
- A gift to the College of Osteopathic Medicine Enrichment directly supports the experiences that shape our student doctors into exceptional physicians. Contributions help fund opportunities such as student research presentations at national conferences, community health outreach, leadership development through student organizations, and other educational experiences that strengthen their training and prepare them to serve patients across Texas.
- SHSU-COM is committed to keeping medical education accessible so that talented students who are called to serve their communities can pursue a career in medicine. You may also consider a gift to the College of Osteopathic Medicine Scholarship, which provides financial support to student doctors as they pursue their medical education and helps ensure that financial barriers do not stand in the way of future physicians.
Your support helps ensure that SHSU-COM student doctors and graduates continue expanding access to care and improving the health of communities in need.
